I am running for Ward 5 City Council to bring transparency and community partnership to our neighborhoods. It is imperative that we have leadership who is willing to fight and not be afraid to speak up for the community. We need leadership that is willing to work together for the common good of all. I am that person. I invite you to join me in making Ward 5 a better place.

Meet and Greets

This week I attended two meet and greets. Thanks to everyone who has held a meet and greet within the past few weeks. It is great to meet neighbors throughout the ward and talk about issues that we face as a community. I look forward to more of these opportunities throughout the summer and fall.

Historic Saint Andrews

Today the City Council voted against the Historic Saint Andrew group and in favor of demolishing a church which holds much history and culture in the Como neighborhood. It is not just a building but a place where people at one time gathered, socialized, and worshiped together. A place where wedding, baptisms, funerals, and life celebrations took place. A place such as Saint Andrews is a place we can all understand is and has been a place of community and rich culture. Buildings such as this have in many other places been turned into museums, dance and theater studio's, history centers, etc rather than being demolished. These acts of reuse have left the door open for people to return and teach their own children or grandchildren about past history with something tangible.
