Historic Saint Andrews

Today the City Council voted against the Historic Saint Andrew group and in favor of demolishing a church which holds much history and culture in the Como neighborhood. It is not just a building but a place where people at one time gathered, socialized, and worshiped together. A place where wedding, baptisms, funerals, and life celebrations took place. A place such as Saint Andrews is a place we can all understand is and has been a place of community and rich culture. Buildings such as this have in many other places been turned into museums, dance and theater studio's, history centers, etc rather than being demolished. These acts of reuse have left the door open for people to return and teach their own children or grandchildren about past history with something tangible.
